It's a possibility. I'm in talks with my chief financial officer... we're looking at what we can afford this spring break (next week). A trip to the left coast would be nice.

At the moment, he's walking. He's walking toward the treeline. I left off there so as to give you'all a chance to react/comment.

Did Ya'qub use all the orbs from his necklace of fireballs? I don't recall. Just curious. I should keep better track of the goodies I pass out.

Trying to finish a research paper... I'll be back after Wednesday. My bus ride ended before I could write up the results. Most of the undead cultists are destroyed, some are clawing toward you- determined but not a serious threat.

Are you sending the attacks into the empty entryway or holding them for a target? If the latter, who will lead the way or who will be sent in first?

Three girls in front forming wall with crossbows. Yaqub and me, side by side, behind them. All the rest behind us. Is this entryway a hallway?

I can't imagine what you're laying out. Can you draw something out and put the pic on photobucket and link it here? Yeah. Its a convoluted layout. I'll work one up. I need a roll from your d3 bodyguards. Waleed can try an assist with one of his cliches, but send an explanation as to what type of assistance he'll attempt. Its a case of, you find someone laying in the street, you want to help but can only guess at the problem... the closer you are to correct, the more likely you'll be able to assist.

rolls sent. Waleed will attempt to use his mage cliche to assist Jahiera, dispelling any magic damage that may have damaged her.

I tell you what, when this things done, I'll have maybe 2 points to spend and I'll be spending it on a healing cliche. I've been looking around for one and haven't found anything for healing spells in Risus, except for TN of 5-9 + cliche points healed.
It sounds powerful, but remember how many cliche points a person can take. But then again, I think magic is way too powerfull in this game anyways. Both Yaqub and I could cast spells all day long and not suffer any effects.
I'm thinking that a limit should be set on spells. Something like: You can cast a number of spells equal to your cliche points, then lose 1 one cliche point temporarily due to exhaustion.
So Waleed is an Air Binder [3], he could cast 3 spells at 3dice and then his cliche would drop to [2], etc... 0 means unconsciousness, -1 death.
This would suck initially since we're used to dealing out some massive unending damage, but still, right now it's damn powerful.
Perhaps the limitation should only apply to spells that do damage. Waleed blowing some dust around should count against him, nor should Ya'qub lighting a torch. Fireballing someone, or blasting them against a wall, then that should count against the limitation.
Which brings me to the spell, fly. It shouldn't count against your limits either, but requires a reroll all the time. Anyways, just some things I've been thinking about...
Oh, on the healer, yeah, so a Healer [1] would pass out healing someone else after 1 time that day. A Healer [2] would drop to Healer [1] after healing twice. This limits players picking up the skill and never expanding upon it.

A castle within a castle... pretty much describes the map we're working with. You are all in the area of X,13 d = doors s = stairs # = wall @ = raised stone platform (has railing around edge) After trying to create it manually I found a cool tool: home.broadpark.no/~hfled/index.html

rolls sent. Waleed will attempt to use his mage cliche to assist Jahiera, dispelling any magic damage that may have damaged her. It was a pass/fail. The result of failure was polymorph. I chose a TN and gave Waleed a shot at assisting if he could guess the problem. (unlikely, but possible) She'll be fine in a moment.

Once Jaheira recovers, I say we move into area further and take a right to go aorund to the stairs.
We'll have our spells and crossbows ready.

Thanks! I left you'all at the bottom of the steps, knowing you intended to go up, but I didn't know if you wanted to attempt to assault the patrol first. Asking might have influenced your choice so I left off after the dispel.

The patrol circles the 90' long building 10' above you. From your current position at the bottom of the stairs you would have a difficult time effectively ambushing them with non-magical means.
The four appeared relaxed and bored, strolling in a group. The upper building is 30' wide. They travel 90' with their back to you, 30' behind the far wall, toward you 90' but out of sight of the 30' stretch at the top of the stairs. You didn't see a door on the long side you approached but you do hear the hammering above you, so its a safe assumption that the entryway is above you.

okay, here's the plan unless I hear any dissents.
When they have their backs to us, we all go up. Girls form a wall, Ya'qub blasts the patrol, I blast them, hopefully sending them off the wall. The do the same to any other enemy until they're all dead.
